1. Who processes your data
Chromapal Color Assistant (a project by Dirk Bal, visual artist), KVK 62383027, Eindstraat 27, 6265 AD Sint Geertruid, is the controller for the personal data processed via color-assistant.com. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to .
2. What data we process
- Account data: email address and an encrypted (hashed) password, needed to log in.
- Subscription data: which subscription you have and which brands you've selected, to correctly configure your access to the tool.
- Payment data: payments are processed entirely via Stripe. We do not see or store any credit card or bank details ourselves; Stripe processes these as an independent controller, see Stripe's privacy policy.
- Technical data: a functional login cookie to remember your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.
3. Photos you scan
The camera or photo scan in the tool works entirely locally in your own browser: the image is analyzed there to read a color, but is not uploaded to or stored on our server. We do not have access to and do not keep a copy of your photos.
4. What we use data for
We use your data to: manage an account and subscription for you, give you access to the tool and the right brands, process payments via Stripe, and be able to respond when you contact us. We do not use your data for targeted advertising and do not sell it to third parties.
5. Retention period
We retain your account data for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your data, except to the extent we are legally required to retain certain (financial/administrative) data for longer, for example the statutory retention obligation for invoices.
6. Sharing with third parties
We only share data with parties needed to provide the service, such as Stripe (payments) and our hosting provider (keeping the website and database running). Agreements have been made with these parties about careful handling of your data. We do not pass on data to third parties for marketing purposes.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Please contact for this. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy, for example if the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
